FAQs

Frequently asked questions

Why do you have a Chinese logo?

This is because we are an international, Chinese and Cantonese-speaking, multilingual team. Our founders, with a combined 15 years of experience in the industry, are English, Chinese, and European. We specialise in providing sales and lettings services in London, catering not only to locals but also to a significant number of overseas clients.

What sort of landlord is the service designed for?

Our services are tailored to accommodate all types of landlords, whether local or overseas. The guarantee we provide ensures a transparent and straightforward process, where you are kept informed about every aspect of your property.

I am a landlord and have an existing tenancy can I transfer the management only service to Freder?

Absolutely, we can facilitate the transfer of existing tenancies, even those currently managed by someone else. We will need some information regarding the terms of lettings, tenancy, and one of our colleagues will guide you from there onwards.

Do you charge fees to tenants for renting a property?

Tenants are not expected to pay any fees surrounding the rental of a property. This of course is in line with the Tenancy Fee ban that came in effect in 2019.

Is this service secure?

Absolutely. We are members of a number of regulatory bodies such as Mydeposit, Client Money Protection and the The Property Ombudsman.
This signifies a commitment to maintaining high standards and ethical practices within the real estate industry. Here's what it generally means to be a member of each of these bodies:

MyDeposits
Purpose: MyDeposits is a tenancy deposit protection scheme.
Membership Significance: As a member, landlords and letting agents commit to protecting tenants' deposits in accordance with legal requirements. It provides assurance that deposits will be handled fairly, and disputes can be resolved through a fair adjudication process.

Client Money Protection (CMP)
Purpose:
CMP provides financial protection for clients' money held by letting agents and property management companies.
Membership Significance: Being a member of CMP demonstrates a commitment to safeguarding clients' funds. In the event of financial mismanagement or insolvency, clients have a level of financial protection.

The Property Ombudsman (TPO):
Purpose:
TPO is an independent dispute resolution service for property-related matters.
Membership Significance: Membership indicates a commitment to resolving disputes fairly and transparently. In case of any disputes between agents and clients or tenants, TPO provides an avenue for resolution without resorting to legal action. In summary, being a member of these regulatory bodies reflects a commitment to professionalism, ethical conduct, and providing a high standard of service within the real estate industry. It also provides assurance to clients, tenants, and landlords that certain standards and safeguards are in place. We recommend visiting our About page to read more about who we are.
